The story of Phyllis’s Corner always makes me laugh. Phyllis lived on Shore Road and was said to have been terrorised by the local children for being a ‘witch’ but if you speak to the local children who were about at the time, they strongly contest this saying Phyllis was the one causing the mischief. On the map you’ll find Phyllis’s Corner is really called Fishers Bush.  It’s a small layby on the bend of the Shore Road from Glencaple towards Caerlaverock and has been popular with campers over the years. From this point you will get a stunning view of Kirkconnel Flow, Criffel, the Solway and back towards Dumfries.

I think the best way to describe this scent is ‘clean’ and it’s one I like to burn in the bathroom when I have guests round (as rare as that is in these strange times). It’s very fresh and takes me instantly to Phyllis’s Corner when the wind is blowing strong.

Available in our natural wax blend candles and 100% soy wax melts, have a look in our online shop for all the details.

I’d love to know more about Phyllis and her witchiness, if you have any stories or photographs please let me know as I would love to add them to this blog to share.
